Has Anyone Seen Sara Sun?
Has anyone seen Sara Sun?
Sometimes she hides out just for fun.
I wonder where she is today,
and when it was she snuck away.
It seems that when you want her most
and she WAS standing by that post,
she's vanished like a puff of dust.
A Sara hunt becomes a must.
Finding her is never easy.
(Try to catch a pig that's greasy!)
Ever since she learned to crawl
and she was over two feet tall,
she's loved to creep in tiny places
and hide herself from prying faces.
Her parents don't know what to do.
I guess that's why I'm telling you.
In hopes that you'll suggest to them
a way to keep their giggly gem
from running off to hide again.
When she was two, she toddled out
(This story, now, you mustn't doubt).
She tippy-toed right down to town
in nothing but her pink nightgown.
She hid herself, despite the locks,
inside the nearest mailbox.
Our girl was gone but half a tic,
and mother-dear got worried sick.
They went out searching, everyone
but couldn't find their silly bun.
And in the morning (don't you snicker)
they found her with a postal sticker.
She'd been delivered to their home
the sticker said “Address unknown.”
Now, every day she hides like that.
Can you believe she's such a brat?
Her family wants to ask you--Please!
for help to put them at their ease.
If you can think of some small way
to keep her home throughout the day,
just tell them, then, and raise their hopes.
They'll go back and loose the ropes.
For if she'll stay without the chains,
they'll let her out to play again.
She's locked up tight in their back room.
They hope to let her out real soon,
but they're all worried that their elf
will hide so well, she'll lose herself.
