Rudeness!
Needless to say, Bruegel did not come.
The next criteria is that this perfect "friend" would play all the right games.
Then, some the requirement that a best friend know where and how to pet you. This is very important.
The cat in the book would like a friend who doesn't drag them around and who lets him hide in his secret place. He has the same secret place as me! (Under the quilt) Well, that's ONE of my secret places. The cat in the book has several other needs in a friend: allows privacy, lets him bask in sun, can read his tail language...And the book ends with the cat saying he'd pick a friend "like you" ... well, no offense but I don't KNOW you...though I am sure you are very nice. I get the point (and I know he's a made up kitty) but I reserve judgement until I've met a human or a cat.
Thankfully, I picked two daddies who are nearly always perfect. Sometimes they are loud. Sometimes they are asleep when I am in need of lovings. And they do go away all day most days--I do not like that! But, they are even better than the friend described in the book.
I think Wendy Wahman knows cats well. And her pussycat Olif is very lucky. I also like the art in the book even though it is not realistic. It catches catness very nicely. I give this book this book four treats.
Fishie has been very active! He has attacked Bubble a couple times this week...or at least that is what she told me. I have never seen Fishie move on his own. I think a Daddy might have been involved. But I will keep an eye on him just in case. Fishie has always been nice to chew on, and his tail is very enticing when it goes under things like Blue Tube and tissue paper. He's also soft, so laying on him is always an option. I think Fishie is one of the good guys. We shall see... |
