So in these books, The kitten goes outside and in just a few words on each page we meet all the animals who are out and about. In Fall she meets a chipmunk (who looks suspiciously like a mousie in camouflage) and a frog and a caterpillar. In Spring he meets animals and their babies. In Summer he gets to play in the rain and meet a fox and a beaver (who looks like a giant mousie!) In winter he gets to go out in the snow! I've done that, but I did not see a sleeping bear in the back yard. I like the way that when Daddy Tim reads these books to me it sounds like a song. He says that's called "rhyme." Humans have to call everything by ten names. Weird. The pictures are fun because they are made out of all kinds of different stuff. AND you and your little human can look for details of each season in each book. If I can't see a sleeping bear in my backyard, it's fun to look at one in a book...I think it would be nice to snuggle up with a bear and sleep all winter. I guess I will just have to settle for warm daddies under a comforter. I give this series four treats (I had to give one to Kitten. He's been running around so much; he needs to keep his strength up). |
This is Rudolph. I don't think he looks like a reindeer (which is a giant magical flying cat who helps a chubby human called Santa bring me cat nip each year...not to be confused with Grampie Capehart who brings me bologna every chance he gets...though Grampie and Santa do look a lot alike)...anyway, Rudolph is a very quiet mousie. He has other brightly colored relatives in the mousie pack, but he does a lot of sitting and observing. I may have to chew on his tail to see if I can get some info out of them. I have to know what they are planning! He watches everything; he should know. |
