Reading the title, you'd just think that this is another riff on the "Boy who Cried Wolf." You would be thinking incorrectly. I would say the title is about as far as the comparison could go, but you can decide. There is a suspicion of fib telling...you'll see...
So he always tells the truth, like when his mother asks where the last slice of cake went & Tim says a Ninja ate it. A ninja crept into the house, kicked the slice into the air and ate it in one bite! {Trent can do that! He's an expert cake eater.}
He has a think on a pie of leaves and decides TO lie and "own up" to things he isn't doing since everyone thinks he IS doing them. Then maybe he won't be punished!
So he sends out Party invitations indicating there will be a great to-do with cake and hammers and tea and backpacks etc...and when the guests arrive...
Total fun and I love the illustrations which remind me of Ashley Spires (Binky Space Cat, etc). I did wonder though, who made the little poos in the yard only there when the party guests are forced to clean up...Tim doesn't seem to have a dog...(it wasn't the time travelling monkey, he has on undies)...why were they there...strange...maybe something is lost in the translation from South African!
Little Ninjas and fib tellers will enjoy this...I am going to use this for a Ninja storytime! Stealthy!
