Remember I said I had a hard time coming up with enough adult authors to fill the fiction and genre lists? Well...I read even less non-fiction! I looked through eight years of lists of what I read (I have kept title, author and rating lists of everything I read, and I have since 2006) and I only came up with 8 titles I thought worthy! If it weren't for the Newbery forcing me to read some, There would have only been three books on this list! As it stands, the last two on the list are: a book I didn't like as much as the others and a collection of song lyrics! I've read two non-fiction books voluntarily recently and both are autobiographies written for adults (Adrienne Barbeau "There are Worse Things I Could Do" and Elisabeth Sladen's posthumous book)...SO here's the list, these are all for young people. I bet you have a bunch to suggest; what are they? · Blizzard of Glass by Sally M Walker · Bill Peet by Bill Peet · Three Remarkable Journeys Around the World by Matt Phelan · Gay America Linas Alsenas · What is It Lynda Barry · 5000 miles to freedom by Denis and Judith Fradin · Freedom Riders: John Lewis and Jim Zwerg on the Front Lines of the Civil Rights Movement by Ann Bausum · Oh Rats! Albert Marrin · Amelia Lost by Candace Fleming · Noises From Under the Rug Barry Louis Polisar |

Hey Mr. Tim! Do you know off-hand if any of these were winners of the Orbis Pictus award (or even just nominees)? The college where I work has a children's lit class so I could TOTALLY get away with buying these for the library if they got a nomination or win :D
